Saugeen Shores is not finished with the wind turbine controversy.
Mayor Mike Smith says the town has passed a bylaw approving the municipality join two working groups that are trying to to have more input on the future of wind turbine developments and sites.
Smith says they will be working with groups already set up in Huron East and in Arran Elderslie.
Smith says Ontario Environment Minister John Wilkinson is on record as stating that if communities felt they weren’t getting enough input then there are ways of saying no.
He says these groups will try to determine how to best go about it.
Smith says municipalities throughout the area are hearing from citizens who are frustrated with the lack of participation afforded them at meetings.
Smith says meeting dates with the two groups are being worked out.
