Tonight is the night kids everywhere look forward to.
And with all hallows eve every year comes some timely reminders from the OPP on how to keep the little trick or treaters safe.
Grey County OPP Constable Steve Starr also has tips on how to get our homes ready to welcome the candy worshippers.
Starr says as for the trick or treaters, the same story still rings true.
Make sure the young ones go out with an adult.
Older children should map out their routes and bring a cell phone if possible.
Starr also says even though there have been few reports of candy tampering to wait until adults check the sweets before consuming.
Then there is what us grown ups can do to get the house ready for the door to door guests.
Starr says best bet is to light the house as best as possible. If you have a dog make sure they are far from the door as well.
Then to the roadways — Starr reminds all motorists to be on the lookout for the ghosts and goblins and take it easy.
Especially in urban areas where there are more homes, Starr says to reduce your speed tonight.
Whatever you do, make sure it is a fun and safe evening for all.
