A second search along the waterfront in Owen Sound turned up a number of items of interest in the disappearance of Lisa Maas
OPP officers scoured a property on 3rd Avenue East, north of the Bayshore on Thursday until 10:30 PM.
The OPP used a small tracked excavator for the search throughout the day, along with a ground penetrating radar (GPR) device.
Also, on one occasion a cadaver dog was put into service.
Grey County OPP Media Relations Officer Steve Starr says the search team, under the direction of CIB Detective Inspector Ian Maule, has not ruled out the possibility of future searches at the same site.
Starr tells Bayshore Broadcasting News just how valuable the items of interest are has yet to be determined.
He wouldn’t say exactly what was recovered during the dig, which followed a search of the same land on October 13th.
The OPP have a suspect in the case.
Constable Starr says a man has been a person of interest for several years but he is not in custody at this point.
In July of 1988, Lisa Maas vanished after going to a party in the former Sydenham township.
