Police are back at an Owen Sound property for a third time in connection with the disappearance of Lisa Maas.
This time, members of the Cold Case Homicide Team have been joined by the OPP Search and Rescue Unit and the Forensic Identification Team.
And they are using heavier digging equipment to search for clues at the 3rd Avenue East property.
Grey County OPP Constable Steve Starr tells Bayshore Broadcasting News Tuesday’s search is much more intense.
Starr says they are back at the same location because of the items of interest found during the last search on October 28th.
But Starr would not elaborate on what those items were.
Lisa Maas was 22 at the time she disappeared after a party in Sydenham Township in 1988.
It’s the third time in a month that Police have searched the 3rd Avenue East property.
The OPP have also received a dozen new tips since they concentrated their investigation at the Owen Sound property.
Police have a suspect in the case — who has been a person of interest for several years — but he is not in custody at this point.
The province is offering a 50 thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for the Maas’ disappearance.
