The campaign to save the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program in Hanover is getting a big boost.
The group has received an anonymous donation of four thousand dollars.
That follows a 10 thousand dollar by Lang Farms in Cargill last week.
Executive Director Chantal La Duke tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they have now raised almost 20 thousand of their 38 thousand dollar goal.
La Duke says the donations are a vote of confidence from the community that the service they provide is needed.
And she notes the money is coming from communities outside of Hanover — since they also help children in Brockton, Chesley and Mildmay.
The donors also issued challenges to residents and businesses to match their donations.
La Duke is confident they will reach their 38 thousand dollar goal by the new year to ensure their doors stay open.
In fact — she hopes they can raise more money to ensure the longevity of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program.
La Duke notes they are helping 108 kids at the moment with a waiting list of 25 other children.
