The 14th annual Gala for the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey surpassed fundraising expectations this year.
The “Red Carpet Celebrity Gala” was held on Saturday, and raised 20 thousand dollars, which surpasses their goal of 18 thousand.
Money was raised through ticket sales to the event, and through silent and live auctions and door prize draws.
Interim Community and Fund Development Coordinator Shannon Drainville says they can’t rely on government funding alone, and that’s why fundraising is so important.
She says without the community support they would not be able to offer vital services and programs.
