Some good news at South Bruce Peninsula council from the co-chair of the doctor recruitment committee.
They’ve locked in a 7th doctor to serve the area.
Doctor recruitment co-chair Dan Kerr shared the good news.
Kerr went on to say the 7th doctor, who remains unidentified, will allow physicians in Wiarton to take some time off and yet maintain the 24/7 service in the hospital’s emergency room.
He says next on their agenda is to get help for the Sauble Medical Clinic which is in dire need of a full time doctor.
Meanwhile, the recruitment committee will be meeting with officials from Bruce Power today.
Kerr says there’s a possibility of some money coming from Bruce Power for a website development that would attract more doctors to the South Bruce Peninsula area.
