It appears Sandfest had a big economic impact on Sauble Beach.
A study shows over 4.4 million dollars was spent over the 3 days by tourists coming to the area.
Sandfest was held August 6th to the 8th and over 48 thousand people participated.
Festivals and Events co-ordinator Shane Sargant says 71 percent of the visitors came from beyond 40 kms.
With the average visitor spending over 3 nights in Sauble Beach, Sargant says Sandfest created a tidal wave of economic impact.
Enigma Research had staff on hand for all 3 days to gather information for it’s report.
Sandfest features live music, a sandcastle building competition, a classic car show and family entertainment.
Meanwhile, Sargant says they are reviewing the 24 weeks of summer at Sauble, planning for next year, lining up volunteers and applying for grants to help with the events.
