There should be a lot of High School Students in Grey Bruce making a lot more intelligent decision about risk taking by the end of this week.
The Smart Risk No Regrets Program is being presented at five different High Schools in the northern part of Grey Bruce for the next four days.
Alex Kelly is the Senior Youth Program Coordinator for the program and says through both video and live demonstrations they try to help the students distinguish between what is a smart risk and what is a stupid risk.
The Smart risk is one that allows the young people to have fun without endangering their lives or health.
A stupid risk is one that could result in injury or death to themselves or someone else.
Kelly says during these Smart Risk Presentations, the live presenter is a person has been injured as a result of a poor decision they made in the past.
She says the presenter speaks candidly to the students about how the injury has affected their life while presenting positive choices that can be made to reduce the risk of injury.
The Smart Risk Presentation was at Saugeen District Secondary School on Monday morning.
Tomorrow it is at Peninsula Shores District School and Bruce Peninsula High School.
Wednesday the presentation will be made to students at St. Mary’s High School in Owen Sound.
Thursday they are at Georgian Bay Secondary and OSCVI and Friday the presentation will be made at West Hill in Owen Sound.
