Saugeen Shores is about to lose its Community Services Director after 9 years.
Mike Myatt has announced his intentions to retire at the end of the year.
Current Manager of Recreation and Culture Jayne Jagelewski will become the Acting Director of Community Services on January 1st.
In an interview with Bayshore Broadcasting News — CAO Larry Allison suggests that perhaps Myatt’s duties could be shared internally.
He says they’ll be meeting with the staff in the department in the next week or two and if there are opportunities to economize they will certainly examine those.
Allison says they are not advertising the position yet, wanting to give Jagelewski an opportunity to be the department leader for a time and to see how other functions in the area sort themselves out.
Meanwhile, Mike Myatt ends 9 years of duty with Saugeen Shores and prior to that 27 years in Parks and Recreation in Owen Sound.
