With fewer school aged children to go around, a school in Owen Sound is trying to shore up its numbers.
Timothy Christian School is offering free tuition to new students enrolling in Junior and Senior Kindergarten, as well as a thousand dollar discount for new students entering grades one to eight this year.
Principal Matt Bittel says the big families have simply moved on and graduated leaving no one to take their place.
In order to compete for a smaller group of potential students, Bittel is selling his school on the quality of education it provides in addition to the tuition incentives.
Bittel says even though the school is Christian, many of the families that have chosen the school are not what you would consider practicing Christians.
He adds being a practicing Christian is not a prerequisite to attend Timothy Christian School.
However, Bittel says parents who do choose to enrol their children need to understand and agree on how their children are taught.
Bittel says the school offers a top notch academic program, a very inclusive sports program, and a strong music program.
