A seminar is being held Saturday on the Emerald Ash Borer and local forest health issues.
It is hosted by the Grey County Woodlot Association and is at the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority office on Inglis Falls road just south of Owen Sound.
Forestry Technician Carl Sadler is hoping for up to 250 residents at the session, although less than 50 have registered so far, as of Noon on Friday.
Main speakers will be from the federal EAB (Emerald Ash Borer) group including the director Doug Krammer.
Topics include what is new in the fight against the bug, how fast they can spread and what to look for.
The Emerald Ash Borer is moving north and is up to Bayfield now on the lake Huron shoreline.
Sadler says the Ash Borer has done a lot of damage in southern Ontario, including Windsor where it has killed all the Ash trees.
The second part of the seminar by Carl Sadler will look at forest health issues in Grey and Bruce Counties in 2010.
The seminar is from 10 AM until 2 PM on October 16th and everyone is welcome.
