The Bruce Children are Special Foundation are looking for board members.
Administrator Cherie Borho says as the need for the foundation is growing — so are the needs of the size of the board.
Borho points to the fact that at one point they only had 15 adopt a families at Christmas time that could not provide for their family at Christmas.
As of last year, Borho notes there were 49 families that participated in the program.
Borho says they are currently in the process of changing the bylaws so the board membership can be raised to nine from the current six.
She says the board is responsible for passing budgets as well as approving certain costs not normally alotted in the budget such as something expensive needed for a child such as certain types of dental work.
Borho says you must be 18 years of age or older and be able to attend five board meetings a year.
The volunteer board meets in Walkerton in the evening.
The motion to make the board nine member from six takes place tonight at the Annual General Meeting.
Anyone interested in sitting on the board can contact the Bruce Children are Special Foundation at 519-881-3052 ext 262
