It may be time to think Splash Park in Hanover.
The hot humid summer has created a growing desire by many in the community for a refreshing oasis to escape the heat.
Councillor Bob White says the idea has real merit.
He says there are a lot of families out there with young children that would benefit from a splash pad.
White says going to the pool is not always a feasible or an economical option for some families.
White says a splash pad would provide families with hours of fun in the sun.
White believes Hanover’s 7th Avenue Park would be the ideal location.
He says the large park is underused and located right by the Saugeen River where water could possibly be piped in treated and used for the splash park
Recreation staff will investigate whether or not a splash park could be included in the five-year revitalization plan of the Hanover Park.
