Two public sessions on the Sauble Beach sewer system has pointed out some interesting facts.
A morning and an afternoon session Saturday to discuss the issue heard the same comments as that of Sauble resident Gail Mason.
From an original plan that would have seen the core area of Sauble done at a cost of just over 12.7 million dollars, there’s another option on the table that would increase the area covered at a whopping 69.66 million dollars.
South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Gwen Gilbert — who attended both sessions — says it’s obvious the people don’t want the sewer system except in the development control area and leave it at that.
One resident after another spoke out at the meeting against the plan — many saying if the plan went through, they would have to pack up their bags and leave Sauble Beach.
Over 500 people attended the morning session while close to 200 people were at the afternoon session Saturday at Amabel Community School.
