Long time President of the Georgian Bay Folk Society Brenda Scott has stepped down from her post.
Scott says she is stepping down to deal with some lingering health issues which have been affecting her ability to keep up with the schedule demanded by the Folk Society.
Scott has been a volunteer with the organization since 1982 and has been a member of the board off and on since 1987.
She adds she will continue to be involved with the Folk Society in some form when she is finished her recovery from surgery in the coming months – however she has yet to make a decision on just what capacity she will be involved.
Scott is not sure who will be taking her place as President.
She says there will be a board meeting this week to determine who will be taking over the position.
Scott is most proud of her work to revamp the Summerfolk Festival over the last four years.
