It seems the MacKenzie’s of Tiverton pretty well owned a lot of the Saugeen Shores Pumpkinfest weigh-ins this weekend.
On Sunday at the local weigh-in of gourds, Bob MacKenzie took top prize with a 1376 pound pumpkin.
His wife Elaine came in second at 1265 pounds.
It was Elaine who came in 5th in the International weigh-in on Saturday.
Bob MacKenzie says there was no secret to growing the huge pumpkin.
He says they just happened to be blessed this summer with warm weather and timely rains.
It resulted in a personal best showing for Bob.
Elaine, meanwhile, managed to have the heaviest cabbage at 42.4 pounts and the biggest tomator at 2.61 pounds.
Elsewhere Tamri Ashon of Port Elgin had the biggest squash at just over 674 pounds.
Daughter Madison won with the biggest sunflower flower face.
Pumpkinfest ends today with over 50 thousand people visiting the 2-day event.
