Just about everyone has used this trail this past summer but it doesn’t have an official name and you get a chance to choose the name.
But we’re getting closer to officially naming what most of us have called the shoreline trail.
The trail stretches from North Shore Park in Port Elgin to South street in Southampton.
Saugeen Shores community services director Mike Myatt says the town received 150 suggestions for the name of the trail and that’s been narrowed down to three.
It will either be called “Chantry View Trail,” “Chantry View Lakeshore Trail” or “Chantry View Shoreline Trail.”
Myatt invites the community to pick the name through a special vote that can be done at the municipal offices and soon on line.
Once the votes are counted a recommendation will be returned to council in a few weeks with the trail’s new name.
Meanwhile, no matter what the name Myatt says the trail has been a huge success this past summer with lots of comments coming into the town hall.
