It just won’t go away.
Although it appears to be out of the hands of municipalities, they still seem to be talking about wind turbines.
Now that there’s even talk of setting up turbines in Lake Huron, Kincardine council in on record as backing the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation with their position paper on the issue.
Councillor Randy Roppel, with tongue in cheek, suggested the turbines should be set up at Queen ‘s Park where there’s plenty of wind to go around.
Seriously, Roppel says he senses a backlash of people who may have supported the wind turbines in the past, when it comes to setting them up in our waterways.
Councillor Guy Anderson echoes that but says it’s up to council to come clean with the residents and say their minds are changing on the concept of wind turbines.
Anderson suggests that maybe we have enough in the region without constructing more in Lake Huron.
Council decided to support the work the Costal Conservation group is doing to prevent turbines from coming to our waterways.
