As fall arrives, a pretty upbeat prediction from Canada’s Weather man, David Phillips.
Environment Canada’s Senior Climatologist says the fall will be a continuation of the very nice weather we experienced just about all summer long.
Phillips says he has looked at the American and Canadian Computer models and they are in agreement that it will be a pleasant fall season with the warm weather sticking around for a bit longer than normal.
He also predicts the fall colours this year should be eye popping as well and it could very well be one of the best display of leaves Ontario has seen for a number of years.
Phillips says that prediction is based on the fact we had a wonderful summer with warm temperatures, and more than adequate precipitation.
That has resulted in trees that are not under any stress therefore wont drop their leaves for some time yet.
As for the upcoming winter Phillips says as El Nino has departed and La Nina has arrived in the Pacific the winter weather for Southern Ontario will be very unpredictable.
He says it will be a somewhat flip flopish and will be longer and more difficult that last winter which was one of the mildest ones in recent memory.
