Art and nature will soon be one at the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority in Owen Sound.
The Conservation Authority on Inglis Falls Road is the location for a forty-foot tree to be sculpted into a platform and bench.
Virginia Eichhorn — the Curator of the Tom Thomson Art Gallery — says a partnership between the Conservation Authority and the Gallery was the platform on which this idea was built.
Artist Stephen Hogbin has been looking for several months now for the right tree, and Eichhorn says today the tree in the Conservation Authority will be revealed.
Hogbin will be working on the project in the upcoming weeks and people can watch the art manifest itself before their eyes.
Eichhorn says this sculpture will help people realize the link between something as simple as a deck to understand it was once a tree.
EIchhorn says the Art and Arboretum events are for all ages and that is one of the thing they are hoping this partnership will accomplish.
Hogbin will be on location today for the unveil to answer any questions and explain his sculpture from 2 PM until 4 PM.
