Bruce Power is ready to answer all questions, at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission hearing in Ottawa next week.
A full two Days have been set aside to hear questions and arguements about the planned shipment of 16 decommissioned steam generators thru the Great lakes system to Sweden.
Bruce Power Spokesperson John Peevers says you need to put the whole issue into perspective.
In each of the 16 – 100 tonne generators — Peevers says there is about four grams each of radioactive material.
He urges residents to listen to the experts, and not be swayed by opponents of nuclear power, who he says will never support anything the Nuclear industry does.
As far as reports of police prepare for possible massive protests over the shipment of slightly radioactive material on the Great Lakes, Peevers calls that speculation and something he is not aware of.
The CNSC hearing is set for September28th and 29th in Ottawa.
A number of opponents of the plan — to ship the generators overland from Bruce Power to Pwen Sound, and then by ship overseas — plan on attending.
