Housing sales in Grey Bruce Owen Sound are slowing, but prices are still up from a year ago.
President of the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound, Karen Cox, says the average price in August was 219 thousand dollars, which is up 2.5 per cent from a year ago.
The number of home sales totalled 207 last month, which is down 3.7 per cent from the level last year.
Cox says this area is bucking the national trend, where sales are off more dramatically and prices have declined in many centre.
July figures were better in this area, with 227 homes sold with the average price up by 7 per cent.
Karen Cox feels the market is balancing out with prices moderating, but still going up.
