The signs have finally come down and the detours are gone in Chesley, so now it’s time to celebrate.
The town is celebrating the completion of the Big Dig Construction that saw the main core of the town in shambles for most of the summer as new sewer lines were being installed.
Spokesperson Pat Carson says the town is all back in one piece so there are events taking place today, ti get the residents out to see the new sidewalks and roadways.
Carson says one of the events is to give kids pieces of chalk and let them decorate the new sidewalk.
Carson says there will also be a town wide yard sale, a sidewalk sale, popcorn and face painting for the kids as well — and it all starts around 9 AM.
The Chesley Woodworking Museum is also featuring pictures and artifacts from the original big dig back in 1908.
