After 16 years, Community Foundation Grey Bruce finally has their very own home office.
Their grand opening was held last night at their new location in Downtown Owen Sound — on 946 3rd Avenue East — in what’s known as Carney’s Lane.
Executive Director Roberta Brignell says their new office was given to them at a not-for-profit charitable rate by the owner of Barry’s Construction.
And Brignell says they reached their goal of 5.2 million dollars in assets so they now have enough operating costs to have the office.
Grey Bruce Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch and Owen Sound Mayor Ruth Lovell Stanners were on hand for the ribbon cutting.
Murdoch says it’s great the Foundation finally have a place people can easily access to make their donations.
Mayor Lovell Stanners also noted the importance of having a visible location — saying people may donate more now that they can find the Foundation.
The Grey Bruce Foundation helps charitable organizations and assists countless people to fulfill their philanthropic needs.
