An Owen Sound man is dead after a two vehicle crash on Highway 89 east of Mount Forest.
25 year old Daniel Riseborough died when the car he was driving collided with a transport truck around 11 AM on Wednesday.
Riseborough was a volunteer member of the Inter Township fire department and a firefighter at Bruce Power in Tiverton.
Inter Township Fire Chief Carl Linthorne says “Dan” was only with the department for five months, but had already shown his dedication to the team.
Linthorne says Dan was a pleasure to be around and full of energy — but quiet and only spoke up when he had something to say.
A passenger in the car — 28 year old Diana Ransome of Owen Sound — sustained non life threatening injuries.
The truck driver — 44 year old Lee Cook of Holland Township — received minor injuries.
The OPP say the investigation revealed an eastbound 2004 Honda crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with a westbound Freightliner hauling a semi-trailer.
The highway was closed for about nine hours yesterday.
The police investigation continues.
