The fundraising campaign for the Owen Sound Regional Rec Centre is getting another boost.
Our CFOS Sun Times Christmas Fund Broadcast has donated almost 16 thousand dollars ($15,500) to the fund.
Fundraising Co-Chair Sonya Mount says the fact the Broadcast looks after children and seniors is a perfect match for their community project.
The fundraising campaign has now generated about 1.5 million dollars — or 30 per cent — of the five million dollar goal.
And Mount says they are getting ready to announce more fundraising projects and donations in the near future.
Mount notes they have spent the summer laying the groundwork and coming up with strategies for future donations.
She adds they have met with numerous corporations about contributing money to the 39 million dollar project.
Mount also says the fact there is a huge hole and crane at the Victoria Park will get people thinking about making a donation.
She says it’s a clear sign that the project is moving forward.
