Another Bruce County Plowing Match is in the books.
It was hosted by the Bruce County Plowmen’s Association last Friday and held at the farm of Irwin Slade within the Municipality of Kincardine.
In all, 52 pieces of land were plowed by Bruce County residents and visitors to the area.
The new Bruce County Queen of the Furrow was also named Friday.
Janette Hammell of Tara will represent Bruce County for the 2010-2011 season, and will be at the Prescott-Russell IPM in 2011.
The First Runner up was Alicia Scott of Teeswater.
Tammy Fischer of Teeswater will represent the Bruce County Plowmen’s Association this September at the Elgin County IPM.
Among other highlights, Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell was on hand, in her role as Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture.
She spoke to the crowd of more than three hundred who took part in the ever popular Beef BBQ.
An Award Presentation and Annual Meeting will now take place Saturday, October 23rd at the Tara Legion.
