There’s a new playground at the Sarawak Community Park on the shore of Owen Sound Bay, across from the Owen Sound Golf and Country Club.
The township of Georgian Bluffs recently purchased and installed the new equipment after receiving a donation from local car dealer Hal Wright and his wife Helen.
Mayor Alan Barfoot says the old playground equipment at the park no longer met acceptable standards.
The idea to replace it was hatched in discussions between the Wright’s and Township staff.
Barfoot says the new playground has been a big hit with kids and he thanks the Wrights for their undisclosed donation.
The Wright’s are longtime residents of Georgian Bluffs.
Hal Wright Chevrolet Cadillac GMC Buick, from which Hal Wright is now retired, has been a fixture on the township’s Sunset Strip for decades.
