Grey County OPP are now releasing information on the “Primary Cause” of a fatal crash on Highway 6 just south of Varney.
In a news release, the OPP say the left front tire “blew” on the multi-axle dump truck — just before the truck veered into the on-coming lane and collided with a car on Monday afternoon.
The collision happened in a construction zone on the highway, and both vehicles came to rest at the entrance of a nearby business.
The OPP have identified the victim in the car as 42 year old Donald Kenny of Southgate.
He was pronounced dead the scene.
The 36 year old truck driver, Charles Henderson of Gowanstown, was not hurt.
The investigations by the OPP and Ministry of Labour continue.
