Bad news for swimmers this week at Lion’s Head.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit has posted Lions Head Beach as unsafe for swimming.
Officials say water samples taken yesterday in the Northern Bruce Peninsula, shows levels exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacteria levels.
As a result, the beach will be posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
The Medical Officer of Health advises swimmers, that high levels of bacteria in the water may pose a risk to their health.
Beach information is posted on the Grey Bruce Health Unit website and is updated as conditions change.
At this point, all other beaches in Grey and Bruce are OPEN for swimming.
