A father is breathing a sigh of relief after some trouble in the waters off Sauble Beach.
A three year old Arthur girl was wearing a life jacket in an inflatable dinghy while with her father and brother on Monday afternoon.
Her brother was in the water beside the boat, when the wind caught the dinghy, separating the boy from them.
The father jumped in the water to get the boy, but another wind carried the dinghy with the little girl in it even further away, making it impossible to get back.
The man and his son made it safely to shore.
Luckily, an Owen Sound resident out kayaking saw what was happening and went out to rescue the child.
Another couple entered the water at the same time and brought her to shore.
With the recent drownings in our area and all of the province, OPP remind us proper safety equipment and safety practices can make the difference between a good day at the beach, and a tragedy.
