The Ontario government is showing their support for local food projects with a 39 thousand dollar grant.
The Ontario Market Investment Fund grant will go a long way in a buy local marketing campaign out of the Grey Bruce area.
The Grey Bruce Local Food Project aims to boost the success of food producers and processors in both Bruce and Grey counties.
Local Food Project Coordinator, Freeman Boyd, says the funding is good for producers, processors, and buyers alike.
Over four years some 125 projects to date have received more than 6.9 million dollars from the program.
This is the second grant that the Grey Bruce Local Food Project has received from the provincial fund.
Boyd says the push to buy local is one of the rare issues where there really isn’t a downside.
