Another man has died in our waters.
A 24 year old man from Mississauga is believed to have drowned at Sauble Beach after getting into trouble swimming around 6:20 PM Thursday.
When officers arrived on the scene — witnesses report the unidentified man was swimming in rough waters and was seen going under.
A 52 year old Belleville woman went out to assist and found herself in trouble in the heavy waves.
The young man’s father had entered the water and pulled the woman back to safety.
When he returned for his son, he could not be found.
The OPP and the Auxiliary Coast Guard began a search by boat until 10:50 PM — when a Sauble Beach resident walking the beach found the body near the shore.
The body was located about 300 metres from where the man had been swimming.
An autopsy is being done today .
The unidentified man is the third person to die this week on Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
A 10 year old boy from Bosnia and a 16 year old French exchange student also died in swimming and boating mishaps this week.
