A new Communications head has been appointed by the Bluewater District School Board.
Jayne Sutherland is taking over from Richard Thomas.
Sutherland has an extensive background in communications and public affairs.
Board Chair Jennifer Yenssen says Sutherland brings a broad range of skills, and hands-on knowledge to the communications position.
As well, she has been a board member for a number of charitable organizations and was responsible for corporate philanthropy in her private sector positions.
Sutherland has been Regional Affairs Advisor to the Minister of
Natural Resources Canada, Vice President of Government and Public Affairs for HSBC Bank Canada, Director of Communications for the Vancouver Stock Exchange and Chief of Staff to the Ontario Deputy Premier and Government House Leader.
As Communications Head, Sutherland will continue the ongoing progress being made by Bluewater to improve the openness and transparency of the board.
