The recently closed Dickies factory in Hanover may soon be bustling with activity again.
Hanover Chief Building Official Don Tedford says three potential purchasers have come forward with proposals for the building.
The first involves converting the factory into live work units, which combine artist studios with residential living.
The other two proposals involve converting the building into condominiums or apartments.
Tedford says all three proposals would work well for the 40 thousand square foot building located on almost an acre of land. (2 levels 20 thousand square feet per floor.)
He says the multi residential use proposals also fit in well with Hanovers Strategic Plan.
Tedford says more residential accommodations near Hanovers downtown will help keep the downtown vibrant.
He adds it would be wonderful to see the old building used again as opposed to it being torn down.
Tedford says the old factory is in very good shape and its great to see the interest in the building.
So far the three proposals are just that – proposals, nothing has been approved or finalized.
