Veteran Owen Sound Councillor Peter Lemon is running for re-election
Lemon says there are things that have yet to be completed on Council and he wants to see them through.
He wants to see the completion of the expansion of the waste water treatment plant, and he wants to see council focus on looking after our resources.
Lemon says he shares the concern that many ratepayers have and that is better cost containment by council to try and reduce their spending
He says he wants council also to spend more time trying to attract new business to the community and increase the number of new homes being constructed in Owen Sound.
Lemon takes credit for a reduction in development charges which he says has resulted in a bit of a new home construction boom.
He says not only is this providing more jobs in the city, it also will increase Owen Sound’s tax revenue in the future.
Lemon has been on Council for about 19 years and feels he is a strong independent member who provides a voice for the average person in the city.
