Owen Sound Police have arrested a man and a woman… in connection with several break-ins at westside marina.
A sailor in the Georgian Yacht Club woke up around 1:30 AM on July 27th, after his sailboat was hit by a larger vessel.
The complainant told police he saw a man and woman fleeing from the larger boat after letting it go adrift.
A Police officer and the complainant managed to board the drifting boat — which is worth 100 thousand dollars — and disabled the motor to guide it back into a nearby slip.
A police investigation shows three other boats in the marina had been entered and gone thru.
Police believe the suspects tried to start and steal another boat but were not successful.
The stolen yacht and the sailboat each received thousands of dollars in damage.
A 34 year old man and a 28 year old woman, both from Owen Sound, are facing break and enter charges and theft charges.
