A new environmental project in Huron-Kinloss received a boost in funding,
The Pine River Watershed project is getting 75 thousand dollars from the Federal Government.
The funds go towards protecting four kilometres of watercourse by fencing cattle out of streams and tributaries.
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb made the announcement.
The Watershed will also be able to restore two hectares of streambank by planting over thirty thousand native plants on nine sites.
Project Coordinator with the Watershed project Adrienne Mason says the funding supports their work to create treed buffer strips along the banks of Pine River and contributing streams to achieve a healthy ecosystem.
The money was taken out of the Federal EcoAction Community Funding Program.
