Communities across Ontario are competing today to see which community can achieve the highest percentage drop in electricity consumption.
The list includes Owen Sound, Brockton, Meaford, Collingwood, Barrie, Midland, Penetanguishene and Goderich.
Residents and business people are encouraged to turn off everything they can to reduce electricity consumption between 8 AM to 8 PM.
Residents are also encouraged to sign up for the contest on the website — www.powerpledge.ca
The municipality that signs up the highest number of residents per capita will receive up to 10 thousand dollars towards a solar installation on a municipal building.
