The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce has announced a new “Events Team” for the organization.
Chamber General Manager Joanne Robbins says the team, made up of three chamber employees, will be responsible for ensuring that seamless leadership is in place for the running of the highly organized special events in the community.
Robbins says the first thing the team would like is hearing from the general public.
She says they’d love to hear about events that they may have attended in other communities that might work in Saugeen Shores.
She says they’d really be interested in what they call “shoulder” season events so as to extend the tourist season in the community.
Robbins says the group is also open to suggestions as to how to improve existing events in the area.
She says they welcome e-mail, a phone call or anyone can drop into the office on Goderich Street to chit chat about their ideas.
The “Events Team” has been in the making for a couple of years as envisioned by the Chamber board of directors.
The team this year is made up of Sally Hunt, Heather Lorenz and Nikki Barker, all employees of the Chamber of Commerce.
