The Grey County OPP’s community policing office in Springmount is moving to a new location.
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot says the substation will move into the Thom subdivision effective August 1st.
It has been housed in a section of the Terry’s Trailer Service building just north of the Highway 6 and 21 intersection.
It won’t be going far — a little bit to the northeast.
The new site is a building on Jason Street, across the road from Total Collision.
Barfoot says it’ll be a more visible location, although the public shouldn’t necessarily count on being able to find an officer there at any time of day or night.
The substation mainly enables officers in the area to be able to do some office work without having to drive back to the main detachment office in Chatsworth.
