The 15th annual Jeff Preston Celebrity Golf Tournament is set for Saugeen Golf Club on Friday.
Over the years, the tournament has raised over one million dollars for Muscular Dystrophy research — a benchmark they surpassed during last year’s tournament.
Organizer Tim Eaton says the tournament will be a scramble format, and every group of four will be matched up with one celebrity.
Joe and Mo from the 98 the Beach morning show will also be there.
The tournament started in 1996 when Jeff Preston was just 11 years old, and he says he’s overwhelmed by the support and stability the tournament receives.
If you can’t participate in the golf tournament, there’s also a silent auction the night before at the golf club.
Eaton says it began a few years ago, and the evening will include a free wine and cheese party.
He says they have some great silent auction prizes this year, including a pair of Detroit Red Wing tickets, Blue Jay tickets, a chartered fishing package, as well as green fees at several area golf courses.
The wine and cheese and silent auction begins at 7 PM on Thursday.
The tournament will begin on Friday with registration at 9 AM and a shotgun start at 11 AM.
