The heavy work on the Bruce to Milton high voltage transmission line has begun.
Hydro One spokesperson Danielle Gauvin says they got a head start on clearing away brush on the lands to which they have access.
Gauvin says in the north end of the line, near Bruce Power, foundations are starting to be constructed.
She says the company will continue to build on the land where they have deals with the landowner.
Gauvin says they and a handful of land owners are still waiting to hear from the Ontario Energy Board about the dates for some public hearings that could lead to expropriation of land for the line.
In the meantime, Gauvin says construction will continue in areas where Hydro has access.
The 635-million-dollar project is slated to be completed by December of next year.
