Lucknow’s new fire hall is open.
About 250 people were on hand on July 2nd for a grand opening of the million dollar facility.
Huron-Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan says the construction actually came in just under the 1.1 million dollar budget, at one million thirty-thousand dollars.
One third of funding came from each the province and the federal government, and Huron Kinloss will split its one third funding with Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
The new space includes a training facility for fire fighters, offices for the Chief and Deputy Chief, as well as a meeting room, change rooms, showers and bathroom, and a kitchen.
There are also now three bays on the fire hall.
Twolan says it was a much needed upgrade, adding it’s a “magnificent facility.”
