Laboratories at the South Bruce-Grey Health Centre getting a clean bill of health.
A five day review by the Ontario Laboratory Accreditation assessors has turned up positive results.
The OLA spent five days at the four hospital sites within the South Bruce Grey Health Centre.
The Quality Management System outlines over 500 requirements for hospital and lab policies and procedures.
A summary shows the South Bruce Grey Health Centre is in compliance with over 97 per cent of the requirements – – a result that’s considered very favourable.
OLA assessors say the labs are collaborative, patient-centered and leaders in infection control and patient safety.
Laboratory Manager Shirley Read says there’s a well developed culture of safety and quality at the hospitals, saying the staff has worked extremely hard to develop and adhere to the policies and procedures.
A certificate and confirmation of laboratory accreditation is expected in the coming months.
Reviews are done every four years.
