The Grey Bruce Health Unit is investigating a large cluster of illness among those attending a wedding dinner at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Centre.
Communicable Disease Program Manager Susan Shular says people who attended the wedding have been reporting vomiting and diarrhea that generally resolves in about 24 hours.
Shular says no serious illnesses have been reported.
Shular says the wedding was held on Saturday July 3rd at the facility just south of Owen Sound.
They believe about 185 people attended the wedding and they’ve gotten in touch with about 100 of them — over three quarters of whom have reported symptoms.
Shular says these types of illness are often highly contagious.
Those exhibiting symptoms are being asked to stay at home when ill, avoid workplace and social gatherings until symptom-free for 48 hours, and wash hands frequently.
Shular says they have not identified a source of the outbreak yet and the investigations remains wide at this time.
She says the Health Unit is working with the staff at Stone Tree trying to identify the source and help them implement remedial measures.
Shular says Stone Tree remains open.
