A 48 year old Chatsworth Township man appeared in Owen Sound court Wednesday by video hookup from his jail cell in the city.
Laurie Porteous is charged with second degree murder and attempted murder after two women where hit with a tractor last Friday.
Porteous will be back in court on August 16th where a date will be set for a bail hearing in Superior court.
Grey County OPP say 26 year old Sareena Denesiuk of the Alliston area died following the incident.
A post mortem shows she suffered multiple internal injuries.
27 year old April Smith of Chatsworth township is improving in a London hospital.
The two women were struck on a farm just north of Chatsworth.
Smith had a common law relationship with the accused.
