The former Queen’s Hotel property in Hanover may soon be sold.
Chief Building Official Don Tedford says the town has a potential buyer for the property.
Council has accepted a proposal for the redevelopment of the site and the potential buyer now has 120 days to comply with Hanovers conditions.
This is welcome news for the town after an earlier deal fell through when the potential tenant couldn’t get out of an existing lease agreement.
No other details have been released yet.
Mayor Kathi Maskell is hopeful this deal will go through — she feels it will be great to see some new growth at Hanover’s west end.
The former Queen’s Hotel property is located on the corner of 10th Street and 7th Avenue.
The building has since been demolished and neighbouring properties have been added to the parcel of land.
Work is also underway this year to install a right hand turning lane at the corner.
