Grey Bruce Farmers Week is giving back to the community with the establishment of an annual award for up and coming Veterinarians entering the food animal practice in the two counties.
The annual one thousand dollar prize will be awarded in conjunction with the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College.
The award recognizes the past accomplishments of individuals and encourages their future commitment to rural communities.
This years Grey Bruce Farmers Week price was awarded to Doctor Matt Schieck — who currently is working at Markdale Veterinary Services.
His area of focus is cattle and dairy production medicine.
